Last minute tips to create your NYE Tablesetting!

Hosting at the last minute for New Years Eve? We’ve got some simple tips to help you create a beautiful tablesetting at the last minute!

Start with your linens

A tablecloth always dresses the table, and longer drops create a more formal setting. If you don’t have the right one, you can pick a basic one, and layer it with a festive runner. Personally, I am a huge fan of metallics for the season. The metallic sparkles make the tablesetting immediately festive, and I can use those items year round, which is an added bonus!

Create your centerpiece

The centerpiece- as in the name- can truly set the tone for your gathering. Having said that, you don’t have to go all out to create your centerpiece. Place some greenery- real or faux, and add any extra seasonal items to your table- could be ornaments, or even those pumpkins you used all Fall and Thanksgiving!  I also love placing them on the plates for additional décor. When in doubt, fresh flowers, herbs, plants, pinecones, pieces from nature always work like magic. Add some votive candles, and voila! There is your cozy centerpiece that you can easily create with the items you have at home.

Complete your tablesetting with a beautiful placesetting. Depending on the meal and guests you’re having, you may need a charger, dinner plate, salad plate, soup bowl and of course silverware. But don’t worry if you don’t have any fancy ones, you can easily find pretty paper plates from any party store!

No ring, no problem!

No napkin rings no problem.., The tree ornaments that you thought you wouldn’t use until next year, or those pumpkins that you put away after Thanksgiving will work as great décor on your plates. Alternatively, you can try different folds that won’t require any napkin rings.

In the end it’s all about having fun while setting up the table, and enjoying the process, and just focusing on the quality time with those you love!
